Rubber isolators harden, crack, tear, and sag. Causes include plain old age, heat, and perhaps the biggest offender: oil exposure. (Why'd they have to stick the oil filter sideways right over the rubber?) Heavy riders, two-up riding, and aggressive launches speed up their wear. Symptoms of bad mounts include worse vibration at idle and steady throttle speeds, clunking as the engine shifts around, and last but certainly not least: more pronounced "Dyna weave."
