Harley-Davidson cylinders, being laid out in a vee configuration, grow taller and away from one another as the engine heats, and this reverses as the engine cools. The change in size often yields exhaust studs and nuts that temporarily lose their clamping power on the exhaust flanges, and when that occurs, the door opens for them to loosen and lose their clamping power permanently until retightened.
Stop that process in its tracks with Stage 8 Locking Exhaust fasteners. If you've got studs in your heads, install your exhaust as usual, except using the special Stage 8 nuts. The flanged retaining ring is then installed against the pipe, and the clip fits into the serration of the nut, locking it in place and preventing it from loosening.
Sold as a set to lock two fasteners per flange (one set services one motorcycle). Suitable for all Big Twin Shovels, Evo, and Twin Cam as well as Evolution Sportster, but if you have a Shovel you'll only need half of the kit. Made in USA.
