Burly Slammer Lowering Shock for 2018-Up Harley-Davidson Softail

Most riders lower a motorcycle for ease of flat-footing it or to reduce fender gap. This Burly unit can handle both missions.

  • High-pressure nitrogen charged damping unit
  • Lowers motorcycle .4" at the seat
  • Precision-ground, hard-chromed piston rod for long life and resistance to pitting and corrosion that can damage the seals
  • Steel monotube construction
  • Internal Floating Piston (IFP) provides improved ride performance at all speeds
  • Deflecting disc valving
  • Preload is adjustable by way of a threaded preload adjuster
  • Preload spanner tool is included
  • 12.2” length

The slammer provides improved performance compared to a tired original shock, but most importantly, it brings the rear of the bike down .4" as measured at the seat. That doesn't sound like a lot, but it's often enough to open up the monoshock Softail platform to riders who may not be able to use the motorcycle in its unmodified form.

The drop is also enough to make the bike look "Correct" visually to those who don't like the generous gap between tire and fender in stock dress.
