Andrews EV27 Camshaft for 1984-1999 Harley-Davidson Big Twin Evolution
Looking to unlock some power beyond what mufflers and a carburetor rejet got you? For a Big Twin Evo, there's no more widely-accepted universally correct answer as the EV27.
- Bolt-in—no head work or high-lift springs required
- Cam does respond well to those modifications if you plan to do mild head work later
- Street cam—fast opening and closing ramps specifically designed for hydraulic lifters
- Pulls from 1,500 to 6,000 RPM; really shines between 2,000-5,500 RPM
- .495" lift, 236° duration
- Adds significant mid-range power without affecting idle
- Less aggressive than an EV3 cam
- Broader torque spread than the EV3 with a softer top and harder-hitting bottom end
- The better choice for heavier bikes like larger Softails and dressers
- Lots of grunt for rider who prefer short-shifting and those who demand roll-on performance without changing gears
A properly-selected camshaft can help change where and how an engine produces power. Throttle response, torque, and horsepower all can be altered with the right bumpstick. Andrews' extensive selection makes it easier to choose a camshaft that works with your particular engine and modifications (planned or existing).
Andrews' formidable selection is part of the reason they're considered one of the leaders in camshaft production for domestic V-twin motorcycles. Each cam is proudly made in USA.
