• Bolt-in—no head work or high-lift springs required for most motorcycles
  
  • 1980 and 1981 engines may require work to install any aftermarket camshaft 
  • OEM valve guides on those model years restrict spring travel and valve lift to .430"
• Works well with stock compression and mild setups, providing more mid-range response and high-end power but retains a smooth idle
• Can be used with hydraulic or solid lifters
  • Cam will be slightly more aggressive if used with solid lifters
  • "Comes on" from 2,500 to 6,000 RPM
• .427" lift
  
• More aggressive than H, S, or J cam
  • Broader torque spread than the EV3 with a softer top and harder-hitting bottom end
  • The better choice for heavier bikes like larger Softails and dressers
  • Lots of grunt for rider who prefer short-shifting and those who demand roll-on performance without changing gears
• Cam gear designed for late 1977 to 1984 Shovelhead
  • Camshaft, pinion gear, and breather valve gear pitch diameter change from earlier engines
  • Not interchangeable with earlier styles unless replaced as a full set
  • Shovelheads having the later pitch can be identified by a circular groove machined into the face of the cam gear
