We started this build with a 1981 Yamaha XS650. We used one of our hardtail kits to clean up the rear of the bike and we installed a Moto Iron Springer on the front.

This bike is super lightweight and a blast to rip around town. We highly recommend a Yamaha XS650 for your first build. They are inexpensive and well supported with parts making them a desirable donor bike.
