Chopping an Evo or Twin Cam? Eliminating unsightly wiring is the order of the day. This starter solenoid actuator from Prism can help.
If you're building a custom motorcycle using an Evo- or Twin-Cam-powered Harley-Davidson, eliminating the wiring for the starter helps aesthetically as well as mechanically. Many motorcycles from these eras in the MoCo's history rely on starter relays and switches (and the ancillary items associated with them) to successfully start the motorcycle. The associated wiring can be unsightly—and there's no shortage of it.
Don't rewrite the wiring diagram. Directly actuate your starter with this solenoid end cover replacement from Prism. Building on the success of the first version with a welded body, Prism offers the 2.0, an aesthetically-pleasing cast-housing iteration. It's a little easier to use than the standard push-button style actuators you've likely seen and way classier than poking a screwdriver through a hole in the factory cover.
Prism has also reworked the lever design on this version to work with more stock motorcycles. Fitment is now largely dependent upon your exhaust.
Of course, it's intended for custom applications and in many cases, this is not a direct-fit bolt-in part. Please review fitment details closely prior to purchase and installation. You may find the install instructions (which is actually just a blueprint) helpful for determining if you have the room to mount this on your motorcycle. If printed on standard 8-1/2" × 11" typing paper, the cutout can be used to approximate a mockup. Don't forget you can gain additional clearance by swapping the knob.
