"I bought this XS from a friend of mine who had it sitting in his garage for about 4 years collecting dust. The bike was pretty much in its original state but I still decided to convert it into a bobber. I did a search for a hardtail section for my project when I came across TC Bros Choppers.
I started the project in March 2014, so it took a little over a year to get the bike to what it is today. Of course, this just included some weekend and rainy day work. Winters are long here so it's good to have a hand on a motorcycle once in a while during that time.
With this build I wasn't going for the shiny chrome polished look, so the painting was done using satin black rattle-cans. The tank was finished with Sharpies (black markers) by my two daughters (16 and14), each got a side to work on, free to draw anything (I got lucky, no unicorns or fairies were selected). I finished the tank by drawing the top, then clear-coating the whole thing with a glossy 2K MAX rattle-can and finally scuffing it to a dull finish.
The bike is on the road and is a lot of fun to ride. Certainly draws a bunch of attention riding and parked anywhere.
I have my eye on a 750 Honda Four for my next project....."
